Public sector bank employee unions have postponed their one-day bank strike on December 27. Many banks have given this information. The strike was proposed in support of the demands of IDBI Bank employees and staff.

Bank unions have kept the demand for an early review of the pay scales before the government. The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and the All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) called for a strike on December 27 for the demand.

Andhra Pradesh Public Sector Andhra Pradesh has said in the regulatory information: "The Indian Bank has informed us that December 27, 2017, the strike has been postponed further."

Punjab and Sind Bank also gave a separate regulatory information. The proposed strikes have been reported to be postponed. The review of pay scales of employees of IDBI Bank has been pending since 2012.

Bank unions called for a strike only in support of the demand for implementation of revised scales of IDBI Bank employees.  AIBEA General Secretary C.H.Venkatachalam said that IDBI Bank management will resolve the issue of the wage agreement within one month. After this management assurance, the unions put forward the strike.

The wage revision in IDBI Bank has been due since 2012, he said, adding that the chief labor commissioner had called conciliatory meeting on 20 December.
