Today is the birthday of famous singer Bappi Lahiri whose real name is Alokesh Lahiri. He was born on 27 November 1952 in Jalpaiguri West Bengal. His father's name is Aparesh Lahiri and mother's name is Bansari Lahiri. Bappi started playing tabla only at the age of three, which later his father taught him.

Popular musician and singer Bappi Lahiri has worked in many big short films, making Bollywood famous with rock and disco. He made his mark in the 80s by giving memorable songs to Bollywood. From the age of just 17, Bappi wanted to become a musician and his inspiration was SD Burman. During Teenage, Bappi used to listen to SD Burman's songs and perform.

In the period when people loved listening to romantic music, Bappi introduced 'Disco Dance' in Bollywood. He got his first opportunity in a Bengali film, Dadu (1972) and the first Hindi film Nanha Shikari (1973), for which he composed music. The movie that established him in Bollywood was Tahir Hussain's Hindi film 'Zakhmi' (1975), for which she composed music and earned double as a playback singer. The film also brought him to the heights of fame and brought forward a new era in the Hindi film industry. After this, he went on to touch the film height by film and made his name as a big artist in Bollywood. Bappi Lahiri is a famous singer, as well as a music director, actor and record producer.
