Veteran singer and composer Bappi Lahiri, who popularized disco music in India, has died at the age of 69. The music world has lost a talented singer today. Let us tell you that the real name of Bappi Lahiri is Alokesh Lahiri but in the industry he is known as Bappi Lahiri. The same time Bollywood's 'disco king' Bappi Da had revealed that late pop star Michael Jackson was a fan of his work. During Michael's visit to Mumbai in 1996, he met Bappi Da and said that he liked the disco dancer's song 'Jimmy Jimmy'.

The same few years back Bappi Da had told about this matter in an appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. He had told that, "When he came to Bombay, I was sitting at one place. Michael Jackson came and this gold chain of mine, Ganpati wala, was very much liked by him. He said, 'Oh my god, wonderful! What is your name?' I said Bappi Lahiri. He further said, 'You are a musician?' I said, 'Yes, I have done 'Disco Dancer'. As soon as 'Disco Dancer' said, he said 'I like your song 'Jimmy Jimmy'.

Let us tell you that Bappi Da was admitted in the hospital a month before his death. Dr Deepak Namjoshi, the director of the hospital where he was admitted, told that "Lahiri was admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But on Tuesday his health deteriorated and his family referred a doctor. Called to his home. He was brought to the hospital. He had several health issues. He passed away shortly before midnight due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).
