BCCI to request ICC to ban Pakistan from World Cup

New Delhi:  In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to write to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to keep Pakistan out world cup  which is scheduled to be held in England and Wales from May 30th and India is scheduled to face Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford in Manchester.

According to report, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) Chairman Vinod Rai in an internal communication on Tuesday asked BCCI CEO Rahul Johri to write a letter to the ICC requesting a ban on Pakistan from the World Cup for supporting terrorists.

 The report also mentioned that the letter should say that the 'mood' in India after the recent terror attack which saw 40 soldiers getting martyred, is not to entertain any cricketing ties with Pakistan.

Many Indian cricketers including Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly are among the big names in the Indian cricket fraternity who have called for the Pakistan clash to be boycotted at the World Cup.

The terror attack was one of the deadliest in the history of Jammu and Kashmir which has left the whole nation in a state of shock and grief.  JeM - a Pakistan-based terror outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.
