Following West Bengal's governing Trinamool Congress contemplated moving a "substantive motion" in Parliament against Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, he called on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to meet with him for discussions on Sunday.

"Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should carry out her duties in accordance with the Constitution. I'll ask the Chief Minister to set aside some time for discussion. Conflict has no place in a democratic society. In a democracy, those in positions of power should work together to benefit the people as a whole. Arrogance has no place in a democratic society. The manner in which the Chief Minister speaks about the governor is wrong. "We should sit down for a conversation and come up with a solution," Dhankhar said.

"The state has become a gas chamber, and this is something I will not allow," he stated, appealing to the Chief Minister to restore the rule of law in the state. I will not allow the state to be tarnished by blood." He also inquired about the fund for the Chief Minister's "Maa" canteen, which was established to give low-cost meals to the state's underprivileged.

The Governor's statement comes as the Trinamool Congress considers moving a "substantive resolution" in Parliament during the forthcoming Budget Session to protest his "interference" in the state's running. In the Parliament, the ruling party may demand that the Governor be removed.

On Tuesday, Dhankhar openly criticised the state govt and the Speaker in the assembly, escalating the conflict between the Governor and the state government.

"The Speaker thinks he has the authority to say anything about the Governor." Is he turning into a law unto himself? Such indiscretion will not be tolerated by me. The Governor's address should no longer be blacked out by the Speaker. Dhankhar had previously stated, "If he does it, he will face the consequences." He was referring to two earlier occasions in which his address in the Assembly was blacked out.

Dhankhar spared no one, even the Chief Minister and the ruling party. "For the last two years, the Chief Minister has not replied to any information sought," he had remarked, slamming the Chief Minister and the bureaucracy. The bureaucracy must be called to account. The bureaucracy has a political agenda. "Are they to obey the orders of a single person?"

"Voters should have the right to exercise their franchise freely and fearlessly," he stated on National Voters Day. "Unfortunately, that is not the situation in West Bengal." People do not have the freedom to vote freely in this country."
