Kolkata: The case of the attack on the team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in West Bengal is gaining momentum. Bengal Police has issued summons to two officers of the NIA team. Summons have been sent to the officer who lodged the complaint at Bhupatinagar police station and another officer injured in the alleged attack. The officer injured in the attack has been called as a witness and has also been asked to bring the medical certificate with him. At the same time, the National Investigation Agency has approached the High Court against the FIR of Bengal Police.

Bengal Police asked the officers to bring with them the car damaged in the attack. The investigating officer will record their statements regarding the attack on the NIA team. It is being told that the investigating officer previously appointed in this case has been changed. The investigating officers of Bhupatinagar police station have also summoned three villagers for questioning in the case of attack on the NIA team. These people have been asked to appear before the police within two to three days. At the same time, both the NIA officers have been asked to come on April 11.

Let us tell you that the NIA team had gone to raid East Medinipur last Saturday to investigate the bomb blast case that took place in 2022. Three people lost their lives in this explosion. NIA was going to Kolkata holding two accused with it. At the same time some local people attacked the NIA team. Many vehicles of the NIA team were damaged after stone pelting. Some officials of the team were also injured in this.

The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday moved the Calcutta High Court in connection with the FIR lodged by the West Bengal Police against its officers following last week's raid in Bhupatinagar in Medinipur. NIA has filed a petition demanding that the FIR registered against him be cancelled. Besides, an appeal has also been made for protection from any action of Bengal Police. The High Court has listed the case for hearing.
