Amritsar: The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Bhagwant Mann government has won the trust vote brought by it in the Punjab Assembly. A total of 93 votes were cast in his support. Voting was held in favour and against the trust vote by raising hands in the Punjab Assembly. However, the counting was done manually. In this, 93 MLAs have voted in support of the AAP government. At the same time, not a single vote was cast against the trust vote.

The trust vote was then passed unanimously. This is the second time in the history of Punjab that a trust vote was passed in the Assembly. Earlier in 1981, during the tenure of former Chief Minister Darbara Singh, a confidence motion was brought in the 8th Assembly. On September 27, CM Bhagwant Mann moved a confidence motion in the Assembly and said that it has become necessary. During this, CM Bhagwant Mann said that the BJP is trying to topple the government elected by the people. At the same time, Congress is also supporting him in this work. However, CM Mann could not tell which of his leaders had received a call from which BJP leader, his allegations were verbal and he could not put any facts in front of everyone.

At the same time, the BJP had termed this confidence motion unconstitutional. Two of their MLAs neither attended the Assembly nor participated in the debate. BJP state general secretary Subhash Sharma had said, "We will hold protests near the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar across the state against the unconstitutional move of the AAP government and misuse of the assembly."
