US President Joe Biden stated on Thursday that Russia is to blame for the "devastating breaches of human rights and the worldwide humanitarian crisis" occurring in Ukraine.

After the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted to condemn Russia's actions towards Ukraine, Biden made his speech.

According to a statement released by the White House, Biden said that the Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly convened by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the first time in 40 years demonstrates the "extent of global outrage at Russia's horrific assault on a sovereign neighbour and showcased unprecedented global unity," calling Russia's military operation in Ukraine "unprovoked, unjustified, and unconscionable war."

"Putin's war has been condemned by an overwhelming majority of countries around the world. Putin is assaulting not only Ukraine, but also the basic foundations of world peace and security, as well as all the United States stands for, according to an overwhelming majority of nations. And the vast majority of the globe realises that if we do not stand up to Putin's Russia, the world will be thrown into even more turmoil and violence. Only four harsh, autocratic governments supported Russia, leaving Moscow alone ""The vote exposes Putin's isolation and holds Belarus accountable for its abhorrent engagement in this war," Biden added.
