WASHINGTON According to the White House, US President Joe Biden reaffirmed Washington's support to Kiev's "sovereignty and territorial integrity" during a phone chat with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in reaction to Russia's military buildup on the eastern European nation's frontiers.
Biden stated during the call on Sunday that "the US would respond swiftly and firmly, together with its Allies and allies, to any additional Russian aggression against Ukraine," according to the White House. Over Russia's military manoeuvre, the two presidents both agreed on the "need of continuing to seek diplomacy and deterrence."
Zelensky, for one, stated that Ukraine is aware of all current threats and is prepared for "all developments." He expressed gratitude to Washington for its assistance, saying it helps to develop the Ukrainian army's capabilities.
Biden has been invited to visit Ukraine "in the coming days," said Zelensky, who believes that such a trip is critical to the country's stabilisation. The Ukrainian president again emphasised the significance of providing Kiev with sufficient security guarantees. "We are prepared to discuss them in a variety of formats," he stated emphatically.
Since November, Kiev and other Western countries have accused Russia of amassing large numbers of troops near the Ukrainian border in preparation for a "invasion."
