Ujjain: Hundreds of devotees visit Ujjain every day to take part in the Bhasma Aarti held every morning at mahakaleshwar temple. A special facility was started for the convenience of such devotees. Under this, any devotee could book immediately by paying Rs 1,300. Now, this system has been discontinued. This has dealt a severe blow to devotees who want to come from outside and take part in Bhasma aarti. They are facing problems.  

According to the news received, devotees have to book darshan online on the portal of the temple for Bhasma Aarti darshan in Mahakal temple. The committee has reserved 400 seats for online booking. Every day from 8 am, 250 devotees are also allowed free of cost at the counter near the temple office. Different quotas have been given to priests, priests as well as other departments under the protocol.  

What was this arrangement?

Bhasma Aarti is booked for Rs 200. The temple administration had made a scheme to provide an immediate facility by donating Rs 1,100 for those who came from outside and expressed their desire to participate in Bhasma aarti. Also worked on it for a few months. 30-40 devotees were allowed to participate in Bhasma aarti under this daily. Now, this facility has been closed for a few days. No information has been given at the administrative level in this regard. The officers have also not responded.
