Chennai: Tamil Nadu cabinet under the leadership of Tamil Nadu CM EK Palanisamy has approved 10% reservation for students of a government school who have passed NEET examination. This approval was received by the state cabinet on Monday. The state government is trying to implement this decision from this academic year itself and hence the ordinance is likely to be implemented in the coming weeks.

The horizontal reservation will apply to all classes of students who have been educated in government schools that fall in municipalities and corporations, Adi Dravidian and tribal welfare, Kallar refinances schools and forest department schools. This approval from the Cabinet after the Justice P. Kalirasan Commission allowed the students to be given the opportunity to study because of the decrease in the admission number of these students in the medical colleges of the state since the inception of NEET. was given.

The important reason behind the decision is that by studying in private coaching, students easily get admission, while the students of government school are left behind in this matter.
