Mumbai: Gynecologist Dr. Anahita Pandole, convicted in the road accident death case of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry, is about to face more trouble. In this matter, the police made a big disclosure on Friday. Palghar police said that Dr. Anahita Pandole, who was driving the Mercedes Benz at the time of the accident, was not wearing her seat belt properly.

It may be noted that Mistry (54) and his friend Jahangir Pandole died in a car accident on September 4, 2022, on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Palghar, adjacent to Mumbai. Both were sitting in the back seat of the Mercedes car, while Anahita was driving the car and her husband Darius Pandole was also sitting in the front seat. All were returning from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.

Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil said, "Dr. Anahita, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz car, was not wearing the seat belt properly. In fact, she was not wearing the pelvic belt." These findings are part of the charge sheet, which the police will file in court. Dr. Anahita, a gynecologist by profession, who was injured in the accident, is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital in Mumbai. Police said that she could be discharged in the next few days. A police officer told that Anahita Pandole has a history of breaking traffic rules. Since 2020, she has been fined several times for over-speeding. Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil said, 'Dr. Anahita has been caught on speed cameras at least seven times for speeding.' He said that these incidents happened from 2020 till the day of the accident in September 2022. Police said that the e-challan against her will now be made a part of the charge sheet. He said, ''The car involved in the Palghar accident was issued challans for over-speeding.'' The officer said that the car was registered in the name of JM Financial and was being used by Anahita Pandole. Will contact them and ask to cancel her driving license.
