Big disclosure of central government, 28 deaths in Assam's detention camps

Guwahati: Since 2016, 28 people have died due to various diseases in six camps for illegal detention of foreign nationals living in Assam. In response to a question during the Question Hour in the Upper House of Parliament, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityananda Rai said that 28 people have been killed in six detention camps in Assam from 2016 to 13 October this year.

Giving information, he said that 988 foreign nationals have been kept in these camps. In response to a supplementary question on compensation for the dead, Rai said that there is no provision for compensation or compensation in case of death due to illness during the detention of illegal occupants and residents of the country.

Let me tell you that while denying the possibility of lack of medical facilities in these camps, Rai said that according to the information received by the Government of Assam, the detention centers are equipped with all basic facilities and basic medical care facilities. Rai said that every detention center provides hospital facilities along with medical staff. These include regular check-up of detainees by doctors.
