New Delhi: Indian Railways has given a big relief to train passengers going to Jammu and Kashmir. The Railways has decided that no cancellation charges will be charged from the passengers till Tuesday morning till tomorrow. This will be the only benefit on the cancellation of reservation for Jammu-Tavi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra and Udhampur. In fact, the Central Government had issued an advisory on Jammu and Kashmir, after which the Amarnath Yatra was stopped and tourists were ordered to evacuate the state at the earliest.

A large number of people are cancelling the reservation after the issuance of this advisory. On Sunday, Air India had decided to cut the fares of all its flights to or from Srinagar by August 15. The price of tickets for the aircraft was seen to rise after the Amarnath Yatra was stopped. Keeping that in mind, this decision was taken by Air India.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the number of flight ticket bookings had started increasing since the advisory issued for Amarnath yatris and tourists. Subsequently, the Civil Aviation Ministry had ordered all airlines to keep the fares regular. Section 144 was introduced in Jammu and Srinagar before the Centre's major decision. Security has also been beefed up in other districts besides Jammu and Srinagar.
