Sitamarhi: The police have achieved major success in Sitamarhi in Bihar. Police have seized more than 11 lakh 66 thousand rupees of fake currency notes. Police have arrested two smugglers in the case. The culprits have been identified as Waris Mian, a resident of Simra under Dumra police station area and Neyaz Ahmad, a resident of Rewada under Jale police station of Darbhanga district. Sitamarhi SP said they had received a piece of secret information that two motorcycle-borne persons were going to Sitamarhi from Khadka with fake currency notes. A police team led by Nanpur SHO Rakesh Ranjan was formed and raids were ordered to be conducted.

Police launched a vehicle checking drive on Mazour and Harinagar main roads in the Thana area. There were two people on a bike. Seeing the police car, the two ran away. The police took immediate action and arrested the two criminals. On searching, 11,66,750 rupees were found covered with a newspaper from a plastic bag of Neyaz Ahmed. Motorcycles without a number were seized from the smugglers, which was recovered by the police.  

During police interrogation, Neyaz said that the fake note was procured from Chhotu from Maldah in West Bengal. They were going to deliver to Kanhai Singh and Satar Mia, residents of Kuwari under the Majorganj police station area. According to the police, the entire racket operates from Bengal. The police suspect that its strings are linked to Pakistan with Bengal, which is being investigated.
