Bigg Boss 16 debuted on October 1st, a Saturday. Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, who played the title role in Choti Sarrdaarni, was introduced as the first participant by Bollywood superstar and host Salman Khan. Nimrit was given the captaincy by Bigg Boss, and she was tasked with delegating tasks to each person. Abdu Rozik then made his entrance, singing to win everyone over, and was led inside the house. Abdu was given the task of chopping by Nimrit after she inquired about his preferences. Salman was stunned by the sizzling chemistry between Ankit Gupta and Priyanka Chaudhary when they later appeared as the stars of Udaariyaan. Salman gave praise to the following contestant, Altaf Shaikh, also known as MC Stan.
A favorite moment of Archana Gautam's was recreated with Gautam Singh Vig as she excitedly took the stage. The following contestant, Shalin Bhanot, talks about his desire to eventually take over Bigg Boss' hosting duties as well as his entry into the competition. The two next enter the home: Soundarya Sharma and Shiv Thakare. Salman expresses his admiration for Sumbul Touqeer, the contestant who is the youngest. While this is going on, Bigg Boss summons Nimrit to the confessional, where he admits that choosing her as the captain of the week was a mistake because she doesn't give the contestants tasks to complete; instead, she solicits their input and simplifies things for them. Following Manya Singh's entrance, Nimrit assigns a bed to her. She is the Miss India Runner-Up. Nimrit refuses to move the bed after Manya expresses her discomfort. Salman learns some dance moves from Gori Nagori as she enters the scene. While speaking about their friendship, Tina Datta of Uttaran fame and Sreejita De enter. However, Salman cuts to a clip in which Sreejita claims she is no longer friends with Tina. When Nimrit asks Archana to change her bed, Archana snaps and yells that she won't because she wants to wake up every morning looking in the mirror. Last but not least, Shehnaaz Gill sends her best wishes to Sajid Khan for Bigg Boss 16 as he enters as the final contestant.
