Romania, an anonymous country in the cricket world, did this feat in 2019 and snatched the crown of T20 cricket's biggest win from Sri Lanka. In August 2019, Romania played 226 runs against Turkey at a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Turkish team was bowled out in 53 runs by 13 over. Thus, Romania won the victory by 172 runs.

Sivakumar Periyalwar scored an unbeaten total of 105 runs for the winning team Romania. Romania became the biggest winning team in T20 cricket after this glorious victory. Only Sri Lanka team reached this record ever and held this record for 12 years. Now the Lankan team has come at number two now and India and Pakistan both occupy the third place. The cricket team of Pakistan and India tasted victory by defeating West Indies and Ireland by a huge margin of 143 runs respectively.
