Patna: The excavation work was going on in Kumar village under Sikandra block in Jamui district of Bihar to enhance the beauty of the pond located on the banks of the temple. During this time, the ancient Shivalinga and the idol of Mother Parvati were found and the people there were shocked. Hundreds of people rushed to the spot and started shouting slogans of Har-Har Mahadev. As soon as the idol of Shivlinga and Mother Parvati was found, the villagers started offering prayers. The length of the Shivling is about four feet.

Anuj Kumar Singh, a resident of Kumar village and a member of the temple committee, said that the work of digging the pond on the banks of the temple was going on. The JCB machine was being excavated. Meanwhile, the driver of the JCB said that there is a big stone here, which looks like a Shivling. After which immediately it was removed and washed with full care. It was then found out that it was an idol of The Shivlinga and Mata Parvati, and experts say that in the last 45 years, the Shivling has come out from around the temple three times.

The history of the Netula temple is said to be 2600 years old. Devotees believe that whatever devotees come here, their wishes are fulfilled. The Shivalinga and the idol of Mother Parvati have been tied in a red cloth in the Maa Netula temple and are being worshipped. Hardev Singh, president of the Maa Netula Temple Committee, says that according to the Kalp Sutra, the holy book of Jainism, 2600 years ago, when Lord Mahavira went out to attain enlightenment, he rested his first night under a banyan tree adjacent to the Netula temple.
