Patna: Illegal weapons have been recovered from a madarsa in Banka district of Bihar. Police conducted raids based on intelligence inputs and recovered 4 country made kattas and 8 cartridges. The name of this madarsa is Jamia Arabiya Talimul Quran. It is present on The Sanhaula-Dhoraiya main road in Dhoraiya police station area of Banka district. Police have registered a case in the case and started investigation. The seizures took place on November 6, 2021 (Saturday).

According to media reports, the raid was carried out by Dhoraiya Saheb Maheshwar Prasad Rai on the basis of a intelligence input. It was reported that weapons were kept in the animal feed room in the madarsa. The weapons were hidden under a straw sack. The director of this madarsa is Mohammad Fajruddin. Fajruddin had earlier been a munshi of Mahadev Enclave Balu Ghat. He termed the recovery of weapons as a conspiracy by the sand mafia against him. According to another report, there is also a mosque within the madarsa itself.
The madarsa is said to be not even registered yet. Urdu and Arabic are taught in madarsas.
