Patna: Voting for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections has started from today. BJP President JP Nadda appealed to the people to participate in this 'Feastival' of democracy by adopting all measures to avoid coronavirus infection. He has made a tweet for this and in this tweet, he writes, "First phase voting is going on today for Bihar assembly elections. Your opinion is your greatest strength in a democracy. I request all voters to take part in this 'Mahaparv' of democracy, taking care of the Covid related precautions."

 


In the first phase of Bihar assembly elections, polling for 71 assembly constituencies of 16 districts started at seven in the morning. This voting is being done in view of tight security. According to reports, about 2 crores 14 lakh 864 thousand 787 voters will use their franchise in the first phase of voting.

The fate of 8 ministers, including former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, may change in the first round. A total of 1066 candidates is expected in the first phase. Bihar assembly elections are going to be held in three phases and the second and third phase will be held on November 3 and 7 respectively. The results of this election will be announced on 10 November.
