Patna: First phase voting has started in Bihar assembly elections. Voting has started from 7 am today. There is a long line of voters in a total of 71 assembly seats in 16 districts. A total of 1066 candidates are in the fray for the first phase and more than 2.14 crore voters are going to decide their fate by casting their votes. In the meantime, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and minister Prem Kumar arrived in a different style to cast his vote.


He rode a bicycle and reached the polling booth, while all eyes were on his mask. He had also printed the party's name and election symbol on his mask which was attracting everyone. However, when there was a question about the code of conduct during this time, he said that his intention is not to violate the rules. The voting is going on in the Bihar Assembly elections and till 7.30 am the total voting was 7.17%. Polling station number 175, 164, 53, 42A, 22 in Tarapur assembly constituency of Munger has been reported to have stopped for one and a half hours due to bad EVMs. Not only here, this complaint has come to many assemblies since morning.

However, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a tweet to appeal to the voters on the day of polling. In that tweet, he said, 'In a democracy, voting is not just a right but also a responsibility. In the first phase of Bihar assembly elections, voting is on 71 seats today. If you are a voter of these areas, then please take the time to vote. One vote of yours can keep the pace of development in Bihar and make it a developed state'. Apart from him, PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi have also appealed to voters to vote.
