Patna: Bihar Election Commission has rejected the demand for recounting by the Grand Alliance. The Bihar Election Commission has given a clean chit to the NDA on a majority. Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivasan spoke to the media late at night. During this, he gave information, 'The Election Commission has handed over the list of elected members to the Governor'. On the opposition's allegations of rigging in the election, he said, '11 such assemblies where the margin of victory was less than 1 thousand. Votes were counted again in Hilsa following complaints from them. Elsewhere, the postal ballot was declared right and the recording was not done'.

The Chief Electoral Officer also said that in these seats, JDU on four, RJD on three, LJP on one, BJP on one, CPI on one, and Independent candidate on one. Thus they include all the major parties. Among them, Hilsa won by a margin of 12 votes, where a recount was conducted on the demand of the candidate. Apart from this, he also said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, there is a provision to re-calculate the canceled postal ballot only if the difference of votes is less than the canceled postal ballot. In Hilsa, all postal ballots were recounted by the electoral officer due to the difference in votes from the cancellation of votes and even then the result was the same.

Srinivasan further said that in 11, a re-census was demanded in six assembly constituencies. Except for Hilsa, the demand for re-counting was rejected by the electoral officer due to the difference in win-loss votes from the canceled postal vote in five other constituencies Ramgarh, Matihani, Bhore, Dehri, and Parbatta.
