Patna: In Bihar, while 73 people have lost their lives due to 'Chamki' fever, the sun is also blazing. In Uttar Pradesh, 37 people have succumbed to their injuries on Saturday alone. In Gaya district, the temperature reached 45 degrees Celsius on Saturday and by midday the hot air also started to kill people.

By evening, the death toll in the heat wave reached 12 in Gaya alone. 40 people are still hospitalized for treatment.  In addition to Gaya, the heat wave has killed 25 people in Aurangabad district. There are reports of continuous heat wave from different parts of the country. This has been confirmed by the Civil Surgeon of Sadar Hospital. According to the Civil Surgeon, 25 people died on Saturday due to heat wave.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded in Gaya was 45.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Aurangabad recorded a maximum of 43 degrees Celsius after noon on Saturday. There is no possibility of any respite from the heat on Sunday. In Muzaffarpur, 73 people have died so far due to bright fever. 10 people have died in the past 2 days.
