Patna: Criminals and mafia are seen fearless in Bihar. Now a recent example of this has emerged from Samastipur district, where the Baalu mafia beat up the ruling Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Manoj Singh and broke both his legs. According to reports, JDU leader Manoj Singh was fatally attacked by Baalu mafia on Sunday night in Dumri village under Mohanpur OP area of Samastipur district on suspicion of being a police informer.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party leader Manoj Singh was attacked with a rod by Baalu mafia. At the same time, with the help of villagers gathered on hearing the screams, he has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohiuddinnagar, where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU. JDU leader Manoj Singh was returning home on a bike at around 11 pm after eating the 'prasad' of 'Satyanarayan Bhagwan' held at Dak Babu's house in the village. Meanwhile, miscreants who were already ambushed near the primary school surrounded them and attacked them with rods.

The Baalu mafia accused the JDU leader that 'you work for the police, which is affecting our work.' In fact, in the past, the police had also raided that area. During the assault, a crowd of people gathered around after hearing the cries of the JDU leader, after which the miscreants fled from there. Later, people informed the police about the incident and admitted the JDU leader to a private clinic. Tension has spread in the village over the incident.
