When it comes to the great spinners of world cricket, the name of Bishan Singh Bedi of India is taken prominently. Bishan Singh Bedi played the danka with his separation spin bowling. Even the great kangaroo spinner Shane Warne has considered him his mentor. Bishan Singh Bedi was born on 25 December 1946 in Amritsar.

Bishan Singh Bedi made his debut for India in the year 1996, has played cricket till 1979. Bishan Singh Bedi not only bowed to the bowling but also led Team India. Bishan Singh Bedi took 266 wickets in 67 Test matches in his career. He took the feat of taking 7 wickets in 10 matches, in addition to 370 first-class matches. He has taken a total of 1560 wickets in his career and so far no one has been able to match his record.

Bishan Singh Bedi was in discussion with his bowling as well as some developments in his career. He got the batsmen back on the field after being angry with the umpire in the decisive match of the series against Pakistan in the year 1978. In fact, Pakistan bowler Sarfaraz Nawaz threw four consecutive boundaries but the umpire did not make it wide. He recalled both the batsmen of India batting at the crease.

Another incident was seen on the tour of New Zealand in 1989–90. On this tour of India, there was a severe defeat in the match of the Rotham Cup. After the defeat, Bishan Singh Bedi was so angry that he had said to immerse the team in the Pacific Ocean.

After retirement, Bishan Singh is spending time with the Bedi family and is 73 years old. Bishan Singh Bedi, who has performed in his career, has been awarded the Arjuna Award, besides which he has been honoured in cricket.
