COINBASE, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has announced the acquisition of its first startup in India. For an undisclosed sum, the company is acquiring Agara, an AI-powered support platform with operations in India and the United States. The deal is expected to be completed later this year. Agara's deep expertise in machine learning and natural language processing will be brought to Coinbase's engineering team, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Australia's largest bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, announced on Wednesday that it will be the first in the country to offer cryptocurrency services to retail customers, marking a shift from a sector that had previously refused to do business with cryptocurrency providers.
