Bitter cold brings 42 trains delay, 4 cancelled

NEW DELHI: Bitter cold and dense fog in most parts of northern India bring 42 trains delay and four other trains cancelled on Friday, a railway official said.

Northern Railway (NR) official, cold starts wreaking havoc on the rail transport in the country. Adding to this, dense fog continues to disrupt transport services as poor visibility led to multiple cancellation and delays on Wednesday.

According to information, Brahmputra Express was running over 24 hours behind schedule while the Swatantrata Senani Express was running over 27 hours late and the Shaheed Express was over 15 hours late.

The official also said that at least four trains were rescheduled. Meanwhile, according to the Delhi International Airport Limited, which manages operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here, flight operations were not affected on Friday.
