New Delhi: The BJP has strongly criticized the opposition INDIA bloc's rally held at Ramlila ground in New Delhi, dismissing it as a gathering to "save family" and "hide corruption" rather than the proclaimed intention of safeguarding democracy.

Sudhanshu Trivedi, spokesperson for the BJP, pointed to numerous corruption cases involving leaders from various parties, including the Congress, DMK, and RJD, asserting that these allegations stem from the pre-2014 era. He countered the opposition's accusation of political vendetta by highlighting that the probes into graft cases precede the current government's tenure. Trivedi reminded that Ramlila ground, once a venue for the "India against corruption" movement led by Anna Hazare, is now hosting a rally characterized by its association with corruption.

He criticized the alliance formed by parties that previously condemned each other as corrupt, particularly highlighting the involvement of leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has convictions in multiple corruption cases. Trivedi further accused the opposition parties of attempting to conceal their past misdeeds, noting their historical opposition to initiatives like the construction of the Ram temple and calls for the eradication of Hinduism.

In contrast, Trivedi asserted that the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stands for credibility and a proven track record of fulfilling promises. He took a swipe at the opposition's claims of upholding democracy, labeling them as dynastic organizations that hinder the rise of others within their ranks. Trivedi concluded by expressing confidence that the electorate will deliver a fitting response to these parties in the upcoming elections.
