Mumbai: Jitendra Awhad, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar, raised concerns about the absence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha amidst Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's extended Enforcement Directorate custody following his arrest in a liquor policy case.

Both NCP (Sharad Pawar) and AAP are part of the Opposition-led INDIA bloc formed to challenge the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Awhad, in a now-deleted post on social media platform X, questioned the whereabouts of Raghav Chadha, highlighting his absence in the current scenario.

Speaking to reporters earlier, Awhad noted the active presence of other AAP leaders, including Atishi, and expressed concern over Chadha's conspicuous absence. He praised Chadha as a valuable asset with commendable intellect and emphasized that his absence was disheartening for AAP supporters.

Awhad emphasized the importance of staying connected with the people, suggesting that even from London, Chadha could have communicated with the party through videos or messages. He raised questions about Chadha's complete disappearance and urged for clarification from the AAP leadership.

Raghav Chadha, known as Arvind Kejriwal's "blue-eyed boy," is currently in London with his wife Parineeti Chopra for a vitrectomy procedure, a type of eye surgery aimed at preventing retinal detachment.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal remains in Enforcement Directorate custody until April 1 following his arrest in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. The Enforcement Directorate has labeled Kejriwal as the central figure in the liquor policy scam, but Kejriwal has denied the allegations, accusing the probe agency of targeting AAP at the BJP's instigation.
