BJP will rule another state Arunachal with bulk defection by Khandu faction

NEW DELHI: Lotus bloomed in one more state of North-East i.e. in Arunachal Pradesh. On Saturday, politics turned a full circle in in the state and there will be a new BJP government in the state, with the dawn of New year, led by Pema Khandu. This development took place, when 33 of the 43 MLA’s of People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in the leadership of present chief minister Pema Khandu on December 31.

Earlier on Thursday, the ruling party PPA suspended Pema Khandu and six other MLA’s with allegations of anti-party activities. On The next day, PPA President Kahfa Bengia named Takam Pario as the new chief minister of the state. But, the other faction of PPA led by Khandu played the master stroke and he joined BJP along with 33 other MLA’s. With their joining, BJP has gained clear majority in the 60-member state assembly. Therefore, Arunachal BJP president Tapir Gao announced that the party will form the next government and Khandu will continue as the chief minister.
