Kolkata: BJP candidate for Bhowanipore by-election Priyanka Tibrewal along with other leaders organized a protest rally at Hazra Course in south Kolkata last Saturday. In fact, the event was for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee comparing the deceased BJP leader Manas Saha to a 'dead dog' during an election campaign.

In fact, addressing the public in the 71st ward of Bhowanipore assembly constituency last Friday, Mamata Banerjee commented, "When I went for a meeting yesterday, I heard that they (BJP workers) were trying to enter my house with a body. You have the audacity to do this in front of my residence."

At the same time, she issued a stern warning to the BJP's state unit, "What if I send a dead dog to your house? How will it happen? Don't you think I have the necessary machinery? It will take a second to dump a rotten dog outside your house and you will not be able to eat for 10 days (due to smell).'' Earlier on Friday, BJP state president Sukant Majumdar, Lok Sabha members Arjun Singh and Jyotirmay Singh Mahato and Tibrewal were booked by Kali Ghat police station for illegal gathering, rioting and use of criminal force to prevent public servants from performing duty.
