"BJP is panicking in state due to the Aam Aadmi Party": Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister and the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the BJP will soon remove its Gujarat unit president C. R Patil since it is ''badly terrified'' by the presence AAP in the poll-bound state.

Kejriwal, who embarked on a 2-day visit to Gujarat along with his deputy Manish Sisodia to campaign for his party ahead of assembly polls later this year, is scheduled to interact with youth in Bhavnagar city on issues of employment and education on the second day of his tour.

The BJP is badly afraid of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat. Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi, "According to information, Gujarat BJP state president CR Patil is likely to be ousted soon.  ''Is BJP so scared?'' Kejriwal asked.

In the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, Kejriwal attempted to portray the contest between the BJP and AAP as a "Dharamyudh" similar to the Mahabharata, in which the incumbent party has the "armies" of the investigation agencies CBI and ED on its side and his party has the "support of Lord Krishna."

The AAP national convener compared his party to the Pandavas, the triumphant heroes of the Hindu epic, and the BJP to the Kauravas, the Mahabharata's defeated villains. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Himmatnagar town of Sabarkantha district, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP-ruled Gujarat is yearning for a change and the AAP has received immense support from the people. He said, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid on the home of Delhi's deputy chief minister Sisodia for this reason.

In response to charges of corruption in the implementation of the Delhi excise policy, the CBI conducted raids at Sisodia's residence and 30 other locations throughout the nation on Friday.

Following Delhi LG V K Saxena's suggestion for an investigation in the matter, the central prosecutor's office filed a source-based FIR accusing Sisodia and others.
