Kolhapur: After the violence in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, a political war has erupted. A rally of Hindu organisations at Shivaji Chowk had protested against some social media posts glorifying Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. After the conclusion of the rally, some miscreants started pelting stones at houses and business establishments of the Muslim community, leading to violent protests. The police had to resort to lathicharge and 36 persons were arrested. Many political statements came out in this case.
Now the controversial tweet of BJP leader Nilesh Rane has created a new ruckus. "Sharad Pawar is the reincarnation of Aurangzeb. The NCP is in no mood to take the matter lightly. The party will hold a jail bharo agitation in Mumbai on Friday."
In fact, there has been a ruckus in some districts of Maharashtra, including Ahmednagar and Kolhapur, for a few days in protest against some social media posts glorifying Aurangzeb.
In this case, first Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that suddenly so many children of Aurangzeb came from. The search for it begins. In response, Sharad Pawar said that if posters were put up in Ahmednagar, then why the ruckus in Pune-Kolhapur? If 2-4 people did something wrong, why so much fuss? The government's job is to maintain religious harmony. Now BJP leader Nilesh Rane has also jumped into this controversy. Reacting to Pawar's statement that he expressed concern for minority communities like Muslims and Christians in Maharashtra, Rane tweeted, "Pawar saheb gets worried for the Muslim community as elections approach. Sometimes it seems that Sharad Pawar is an incarnation of Aurangzeb." Though the NCP has asked Rane to delete the tweet, Nilesh Rane is yet to budge from his stand as the tweet can still be seen on his profile.
