New Delhi: In the well-known National Herald case, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Thursday. The probe agency has now asked Sonia Gandhi to appear for questioning on July 25. On the other hand, Congress leaders and workers held a fierce protest against the ED and the central government in Delhi as well as in other states of the country on Thursday. In some places, arson was also done by Congress workers, along with this train was also stopped, due to which the common man had to suffer a lot.
In the midst of all this, there is a debate going on on news channels also regarding the ED's questioning of Sonia Gandhi. During one such TV debate, there was a heated argument between Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi and senior journalist Rajagopal. In this debate, the Congress called the ED an idiot, while in the statement of the Congress, Rajagopal said who is taking the rent from the passport office. In response, Surendra Rajput said, ''Go and check in whose bank account the money is going. If any amount goes from here to there, I will leave my post, otherwise, Rajagopal and Aman Chopra will leave their jobs.''
Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput said during the debate that Aman Chopra, you are defaming the Congress, you are defaming the Constitution of this country and the Gandhi family as well. There should be things against you too. On this, senior journalist Rajagopal said that big lawyers had gone to the Supreme Court and the court said that go to the lower court and get bail. Now both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are out on bail.
Senior journalist Rajagopal said in the debate that from the loan of 90 crores, she got property worth 3500 crores in her name, this is money laundering. During the debate, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said 'The institution which has assets of 3500 crores and could not repay the loan of 90 crores, this thing is not acceptable to anyone.'' National Herald had such a huge land in Kaiserbagh of Lucknow that only by selling it the entire loan of 90 crores could be paid off. In response to Trivedi, the Congress spokesperson could only say that the National Herald newspaper had stopped printing in 1993. On which BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi again raised the question that 'In 1993, there was a Congress government at the centre and at this time the printing of National Herald stopped? How are you talking?' However, the Congress spokesperson could not give any satisfactory reply to Trivedi's allegations.
