New Delhi:  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commenced its parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday morning, focusing on devising a comprehensive strategy for the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Lok Sabha.

Distinguished leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishanaw were among the attendees seen arriving at the meeting that commenced promptly at 9:30 am.

The primary objective of the meeting was to deliberate on crucial organizational matters with party MPs. Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had been adjourned on the previous day amidst uproarious scenes. The Opposition demanded a statement from the prime minister regarding the violence in Manipur.

During the initial two days of the monsoon session last week, a similar ruckus ensued, leading to minimal functioning of Parliament. It is noteworthy that members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) are scheduled to meet today at the office of Congress national president and the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge. Their agenda is to chalk out a floor management strategy before the Upper House convenes.

The Monsoon Session, which began on July 20, with an extensive list of legislative businesses on the agenda, has faced repeated adjournments due to the Opposition's protests, sloganeering, and disruptions by members of the fledgling grand Opposition alliance. The alliance seeks a statement from PM Modi on the situation in Manipur.

On the previous day, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until Tuesday as Union Home Minister Amit Shah faced constant disturbance and heckling from the Opposition benches. Despite his assurance of the Centre's readiness for a discussion on Manipur, disruptions persisted.

Simultaneously, the Upper House witnessed stormy scenes when Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was suspended for the entire session for "repeatedly violating" the Chair's directives. Initially, Singh was named by the Chairman for interrupting the proceedings of the House during the Question Hour, which had been marred by the Opposition's demands for a statement from the Prime Minister and a detailed discussion on the Manipur violence issue.

Following the suspension of the AAP senior leader, the Opposition parties staged a night-long protest on the Parliament premises. Amidst persistent disruptions, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that no country or system could flourish without discipline and decorum. He highlighted that when discipline and decorum are compromised, institutions suffer.
