Indore: After strong criticism from PM Narendra Modi, BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya is considering taking stern action against the party. There has been discussion from the state unit of the central leadership. There can also be a suspension of Akash Vijayvargiya. Action is also possible against some leaders of Indore BJP unit. The city unit celebrated the release of Akash from prison.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had strongly condemned Akash Vijayvargiya, son of party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, for hitting a government employee with a bat. He said, "Son, whoever is the son, should be thrown out of the party." PM Modi made the statement during a BJP parliamentary party meeting in Parliament.  "We don't want a leader who tarnishes the image of the party. Whoever is the son, such leaders should be expelled from the party."

PM Modi was referring to BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya from Indore No.1 seat who had stabbed a municipal official on June 26 for demolishing his house. Prime Minister Modi also criticised party leaders for their tremendous welcome to Akash Vijayvargiya after his release from jail, saying that "those who welcomed him should also be suspended from the party." He was taken in and later granted bail.
