Ranchi: Indian Wrestling Association President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh publicly slapped a young wrestler. He reportedly slapped the wrestler who reached the stage during the National Wrestling Championship not once but twice in front of everyone. In fact, according to reports, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who arrived at the Mega Sports Stadium in Ranchi as the chief guest at the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship, was sitting on the dais when a wrestler from Uttar Pradesh climbed the stage to talk to him on his disclosure. Shortly after all this, Singh lost his temper and slapped the wrestler.

He was then taken off the stage by the officials present there. After the entire incident, several sportspersons from other states including Uttar Pradesh strongly protested against it. Later, Jharkhand Wrestling Association President Bholanath Singh and others intervened and calmed the matter down. The case came to an end last Friday when the competition came to an end. In fact, the three-day competition started here on 15th December and was attended by more than 800 wrestlers from different states of the country. A wrestler from Uttar Pradesh was reportedly found above 15 years of age during the age check (Age Verification) during the competition and was declared debar on technical grounds. The wrestler first objected to the technical team of the competition, but when his bid was rejected, he reached the stage and tried to talk to the President of the Wrestling Association of India.

Seeing all this, the President of the Union was angry. On the other hand, the Wrestling Association President defended the whole issue and said, "He cannot participate in the competition when he has been debared by the technical team. On the other hand, Brij Bhushan Singh said, "The wrestler had come down to badbehaviour despite being disqualified. That's why in a fit of rage, he raised his hand. Moreover, he said that there is no room for indiscipline in our Union.
