New Delhi: More than 300 of India's renowned faces were hacked through Israel's Spiware Pegasus sold only to government agencies, the international organization of media institutions has revealed. Following the revelations, the Opposition has been continuously attacking the Central Government. Reacting to this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said congress MP Rahul Gandhi should hand over his phone to the investigating agency if he feels his phone has been tapped.

Talking to reporters at parliament house premises, BJP spokesperson Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has not illegally tapped anyone's phone. He said the Congress wants to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament on one pretext or the other after people rejected it twice in a row in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It may be recalled that Rahul Gandhi had earlier termed the alleged spying of several prominent Indian figures using Israeli spyware Pegasus as "sedition" and said home minister Amit Shah should resign and there should be a judicial inquiry into PM Modi's role under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

On this, Rathore has said that Rahul Gandhi should hand over his phone to the investigating agency and there should be an inquiry under IPC. He alleged that the Congress cannot tolerate the development of the country, so it is obstructing the proceedings of Parliament on some pretext or the other.
