Veteran BJP leader LK Advani is set to receive India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that BJP veteran LK Advani will be honored with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. PM Modi took to social media to share the news, expressing his joy in honoring Advani and personally extending his congratulations.
"Delighted to announce that Shri LK Advani Ji will be bestowed with the Bharat Ratna. Spoke to him and conveyed my best wishes on this esteemed recognition," PM Narendra Modi tweeted.
Recognized as one of the most esteemed figures in Indian politics, Advani's contributions to the nation's progress have been immense. From humble beginnings, he has served at the grassroots level to eventually become the Deputy Prime Minister of India.
"His remarkable tenure as Home Minister and I&B Minister showcased his dedication to public service. Advani Ji's parliamentary engagements have always been noteworthy, offering valuable insights," remarked the Prime Minister.

Expressing his emotions, PM Modi added, "The awarding of the Bharat Ratna to him is a deeply touching moment for me. K Advani, born in Karachi, Pakistan, held the longest tenure as President of the BJP since its establishment in 1980.
Growing up in pre-Partition Sindh, Advani attended St. Patrick’s School in Karachi and joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14.
The announcement has been met with widespread acclaim, with many lauding Advani's enduring commitment to India's growth and development.
