The party's state president Somu Veerraju said that BJP workers were not involved in the attacks on temples in the state. On Saturday, he wrote to DGP Gautam Sawang. In his letter, he mentioned the scrolling on TV and newspapers published in some newspapers that the DGP had announced that some BJP workers were involved in the attacks on temples. These statements show the false impression that BJP workers were involved in the work of destroying statues. Somu Veerraju said that the postings on social media and the attacks on the statues are two different things. DGP should explain this, otherwise the defamation will be filed.

BJP state president Somu Veerraju met the Kapu movement leader Padmanabha on Saturday in Kirlampudi in East Godavari district.
