New Delhi: BJP MP Anant Hegde is seen all-round on his statement that Mahatma Gandhi's fast and satyagraha are 'drama'. In the midst of opposition attacks, now his own party has asked him to apologize for his statement. According to BJP sources, the party high command has expressed displeasure over his statement about Gandhi.

According to sources, the top leadership has asked Hegde to apologize unconditionally for his statement. Let us tell you that Anant Kumar Hegde, former Union Minister and BJP's Loksabha MP from Karnataka, targeted Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and called the freedom movement led by him a 'drama'. BJP leader Anant Kumar Hegde said that people do not know how such people are called 'Mahatma' in India.

Addressing an event held in Bengaluru on Saturday, MP from North Kannada Lok Sabha seat Anant Kumar Hegde said that the entire freedom struggle was carried out with the consent and assistance of the British. Hegde further said that none of these alleged leaders had even beaten the police once. His freedom struggle was a big drama.
