Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its third list, comprising 35 candidates, in anticipation of the forthcoming Telangana Legislative Assembly elections. This significant development followed a crucial meeting of the BJP's Central Election Committee, held at the party's New Delhi headquarters on Wednesday, aimed at finalizing the roster of candidates for both Rajasthan and Telangana's assembly polls. Among the notable attendees at this pivotal meeting were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the entire spectrum of the BJP's Central Election Committee.

Highlighted within the released list is the BJP's choice of Lankala Deepak Reddy, who will contest from the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency. His competition in the race includes the Congress Party candidate and former Indian cricket team captain, Mohammad Azharuddin. This battle is expected to be closely watched, as the two prominent candidates vie for the support and votes of the electorate.

In a bid to ensure diversity and inclusivity, the BJP's list also prominently features three candidates hailing from Scheduled Tribes (ST) and five candidates representing Scheduled Castes (SC).

The BJP's political strategies in Telangana have been driven by a desire to regain the political momentum in a state currently governed by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), with the Congress Party eyeing a resurgence. The BJP's ambitious move underscores its determination to establish a stronger foothold in Telangana's political landscape.

With three Members of Parliament (MPs) fielded in the Telangana elections, the BJP is making a concerted effort to secure its presence in the state and to capitalize on the electoral opportunities at hand. Telangana is one of five Indian states set to hold elections this month, with the polling scheduled for November 30. The much-anticipated outcome will be revealed during the vote counting on December 3, and it holds the promise of reshaping the state's political landscape.
