BJP Unveils Promises for Delhi Elections: Focus on Students, Youth, and Women

NEW DELHI: On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the second part of its election manifesto for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, titled Sankalp Patra Part-II, at the party’s State Office.

The first section of the manifesto was introduced earlier by BJP National President JP Nadda, and the second part was released by BJP MP Anurag Thakur. In the initial part, the party had pledged to continue the existing welfare initiatives in the national capital.

When we are thinking of a developed-India visioin, a developed Delhi is significant. Earlier, National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda shared his vision for a Developed Delhi by 2025. Today, I present its second part," said Thakur.

BJP's Promises for the Delhi Elections

For students, the party promises free education from Kindergarten to Postgraduate level in government institutions for those in need. Aspirants preparing for competitive exams will also receive a one-time financial assistance of Rs 15,000.

The BJP has also committed to establishing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) with a strict 'zero tolerance' policy towards corruption and mismanagement by the AAP government in Delhi.
Under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana, students from Scheduled Castes (SC) will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000.

Furthermore, the BJP has promised to create a welfare board for auto and taxi drivers, offering them life insurance worth Rs 10 lakh, accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, vehicle insurance, and scholarships for their children. A similar welfare board will be set up for domestic workers, which will provide life insurance, accident insurance, scholarships for children, and six months of paid maternity leave.

The BJP also plans to double the number of beneficiaries under the PM Swanidhi Yojana.

Regarding candidates, the BJP has announced contenders for 68 out of 70 seats, leaving two for its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners. The JD(U) will contest the Burari seat with Shailendra Kumar, while the LJP (Ram Vilas) will compete for the Deoli seat, although their candidate is yet to be named. Prominent BJP candidates include Dushyant Gautam for Karol Bagh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa for Rajouri Garden, and Arvinder Singh Lovely for Gandhi Nagar.

Parvesh Verma is set to challenge Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi, while Ramesh Bidhuri will face off against AAP's Atishi in Kalkaji. The upcoming elections are expected to be a fierce competition between the AAP, BJP, and Congress. The Congress has fielded Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, for the New Delhi seat.

The AAP, which won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections, has announced its candidates for all constituencies. The Congress has named candidates for 68 seats. The election process is underway, with the last date for filing nominations set for January 17. Nominations will be scrutinized on January 18, and candidates have until January 20 to withdraw their nominations. Voting will take place on February 5, and the vote count will occur on February 8.
