Atul Bora, a BJP MP from Dispur, claimed that Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya is unfit to be a minister. "Parimal Suklabaidya is incapable of becoming the forest minister, and he should be removed from the office," Bora told the media. Suklabaidya, failed to act against the extensive illegal deforestation that has been occurring in Amchang. said Bora

"Amchang is just adjacent to Guwahati city, and illegal tree felling has been going on openly for days, but the forest authority has done nothing about it," he added.

Bora said that trees are being cut just behind the Chief Conservator of Forests' office, and that enormous sophisticated machinery are being utilised to do it. "We respect Atul Bora because he speaks his thoughts and has no grudges," Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya remarked in response to Atul Bora's statements. I'll do my best to show that I'm capable so that he'll be happy with my work." Suklabaidya went on to say that while he will not be able to satisfy everyone, he will attempt.
