Black flags shown to Bengal CM in Kashi, people raise slogans of 'Mamata go back'

Varanasi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who arrived in Kashi in view of the UP assembly elections, was shown black flags at three places. 20-25 activists of the Hindu Yuva Vahini, who had gathered near the Chetganj Labour crossroads, waved black flags and protested against Mamata Banerjee. After which Mamata got down from the car and came in front of the protestors and stood there for a few minutes.

While going for Ganga Aarti, they also protested against Mamata Banerjee by waving BJP flags and shouting 'Jai Shri Ram' at Godaulia Chauraha and Dashashwamedh. While returning from aarti, two youths also showed black flags to the Bengal CM at the Godaulia crossroads. As per the schedule, Mamata Banerjee reached Babatpur airport at 4:30 pm on Wednesday. TMC leaders Rajeshpati Tripathi, Lalitesh Pati Tripathi along with SP national vice-president Kiranmay Nanda, Mahanagar president Vishnu Sharma, Manoj Rai Dhupchandi and other leaders welcomed Mamata Banerjee. After a brief rest, Mamata Banerjee left for Dashashwamedh Ghat after 5.30 pm.  

In Chetganj, the activists of the Hindu Yuva Vahini, who were already standing ready, came in front of Mamata and started shouting 'Mamata go back' while waving black flags. When Mamata's convoy stopped, she got out of the car and stood for a while in front of the protesters. Mamata Banerjee's security force and Chetganj police chased away the protesting youths. Mamata said she is being opposed by the ruling party for fear of defeat.
