The infection of black fungus seems to be taking a vicious turn amid the covid epidemic in the country. In Uttar Pradesh, two more patients have died due to black fungus in Varanasi. The death toll of the black fungus has gone up to 4 here. In the new 2 death cases reported in BHU, both patients were battling covid as well as black fungus. Both were 60 years old. Both patients were admitted to the super speciality block of BHU. So far, a total of 74 black fungus cases have been reported in BHU, out of which 2 patients have already lost their lives. Now two more patients have succumbed to their injuries.

In addition, the remaining 33 patients are treated in post-covid wards, 20 patients in emergency and 17 super speciality blocks. In UP too, the increase in black fungus cases has deepened concerns. Cases of mucremyosis are seen growing rapidly at King George Medical Hospital in UP's capital Lucknow. There have been cases of black fungus in patients suffering from covid infection.

It has been revealed that on Saturday, KGMU spokesperson and Dr Sudhir said that the number of covids affected by muker mycosis has increased to 124 so far at King George's Hospital, while 22 new cases of black fungus have been reported in KGMU Hospital in 24 hours on Saturday. The yogi government in the state says it is fully prepared to fight the disease over the growing black fungus case in UP.
