New Delhi:- The ship that caught fire had around 3,000 cars on it, including BMWs and Mercedes vehicles. Around 300 of the cars on the ship were produced by Mercedes-Benz. A big ship carrying about 3,000 cars, including ones made by Mercedes-Benz and BMW, caught fire and has been burning for two days near the Netherlands. The Dutch coast guard is trying to control the fire.

A person on the ship called Fremantle Highway died when a fire broke out and took over the ship after midnight on Wednesday. All 23 individuals who were on the aircraft, including some crew members who were hurt and the person who passed away, were rescued from the area using helicopters and lifeboats, according to authorities.

The fire was still burning and everything was under control at 8:30 a. m The spokesperson from the coast guard said that it is Thursday in Amsterdam time. According to the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, towing or salvage operations can only happen once the fire is extinguished.

The coast guard said that putting out the fire in the ship could cause problems because water can make the ship unstable. They also said that it is not safe to have people on board the ship right now. We still don't know what caused the fire.

The ship called Fremantle Highway, which has a Panama flag, was heading to Port Said, Egypt. It had stopped recently in the German port of Bremerhaven. Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. , the Japanese company that owns the ship, said the cars' last stop will be Singapore.

According to a spokesperson for the Dutch coast guard, out of the 2,857 cars on the boat, 25 of them were electric vehicles. According to a report from Dutch news agency ANP, one of the electric vehicles (EVs) may have caught fire and the fire could continue for several days. The report quotes a coast guard official, but their identity is not mentioned.

Around 300 cars on the ship were manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. Ford, Stellantis, Renault, and Nissan are car companies. According to company spokespeople, the vessel did not have any vehicles on it. Representatives from Toyota Motor Corp. also confirmed this. They think it's not probable that there were any items on the ship.

A representative from Volkswagen AG said that the company is currently looking into the issue, but they don't have any more information at the moment. Tesla Inc is a company that designs, manufactures, and sells electric vehicles and renewable energy solutions. did not answer a question.

The coast guard didn't know if the ship was leaking fuel, but they did some things to try to stop it, the speaker said. The boat was sailing close to the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is the biggest continuous area of sandy and muddy land that is covered and exposed by the tide in the world. These places are very delicate and could be harmed if there is an accident and oil spills.
