New Delhi: One person was killed in a collision with a BMW car in the Kalyanpuri area of the national capital. Around 2:45 pm last night, through a call, Delhi police came to know that two persons had been run over by a BMW car near Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in the Kalyanpuri area. Police, who reached the spot, found that one person died on the spot. The other has a serious leg injury and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.  

The deceased was identified as Rahul, who was around 36 years old. Police have arrested the accused driver Ashwini in the case. Ashwini is said to be 21 years old and is a resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. Police have registered a case under section 304A/279/337 and started an investigation. Ashwini is said to be living with his brother in Indirapuram and works in a private company. Police said the medical report of the accused driver is awaited. Only then will further action be taken.

At the moment, the police are refraining from saying anything about how the incident happened. Because the statement of the injured person has not been recorded so far. Police say that something will be clear only after the statement is recorded.
