Jacksonville: A Boeing 737 arriving at the naval air station in Jacksonville, Fla., from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, skidded into the St. Johns River on Friday night. The commercial plane was arriving from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, media reports suggest.

A rescue operation was launched after the incident, however, there was no report of any casualties. Emergency response personnel were also at the scene. "The plane was not submerged. Every person is alive and accounted for," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said on Twitter, adding that the crew was working to control jet fuel on the water.

There were no reports of fatalities or critical injuries. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said on Twitter that all 21 people who had been taken to a hospital for treatment were listed in good condition. All 136 passengers and seven flight crew members on board are alive and accounted for, officials at Naval Air Station Jacksonville said in a statement.

The sheriff's tweet was accompanied by two photographs showing the plane, which bears the logo of Miami Air International, resting in shallow water and fully intact. The mayor of Jacksonville, Lenny Curry, said on Twitter that U.S. President Donald Trump had called him to offer help.
