New Delhi: Bollywood veteran actor Paresh Rawal has been appointed as the chief of the National School of Drama (NSD). President Ramnath Kovind has appointed Rawal, former Lok Sabha MP of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Gujarat, as the chairman of NSD. Paresh Rawal will replace the famous Rajasthani poet Arjun Dev Charan. Charan became the NSD chief in 2018.

Union Minister of State for Culture Prahlad Singh Patel has congratulated Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal on becoming NSD chief. He wrote in the tweet that the Honourable president appointed noted actor Paresh Rawal as the President of the National School of Drama. Artists and students of the country will benefit from his talent. Heartiest congratulations.

At the same time, The National School of Drama also congratulated its new chairman. NSD tweeted ,"We are glad to inform " Hon’ble President of India @rashtrapatibhvn has appointed renowned actor & Padma Shri @sirpareshrawal as chairman of @nsd_india."NSD family welcome the legend to shower his guidance to NSD for achieving new heights."
